Poems are meant to be read
And songs are meant to be blue
And words are meant to be spoken so softly
From hearts that are meant to be true
And love is a brother
To all living beings
Who teaches you how to get through
To whoever is sitting right next down beside you
And trying to get through to you
Now some of us
will go far away
And some will stay by the fire
And some of us will burn themselves down
If they try to fly any higher
But you and me
We will talk through the night
And learn about loving and growing
And when you awake
When the morning is born
