James Platt is a Port Isaac boy, born in the village Port Isaac on the North coast of Cornwall in 1939. He is a retired mining geologist, resident in the Netherlands. Although he departed from Port Isaac in 1957, his roots remain strong in the village and he usually manages to visit Port Isaac a couple of times each year. The conduct of his life offers a clear demonstration the the boy can be taken out of Port Isaac, but Port Isaac cannot be taken out of the boy. He wouldn't have had it any other way. |
